Iaoth Puriel Eae

Born in a Aasimar Caravan, Iaoth was one of the most pure seen in a couple generations. He was immediately heralded as a guardian. For the first ten years of his life he was taught the disciplines of Tyr and Aten: Purity and justice at any cost to one's self. Because of his purity, he felt connected to the gods and followed unquestioningly. His wings were smaller until his years in puberty, where they developed to their full size. As a teenager, he was taught to wield a sword to protect and guide the caravan. Because none of the other Aasimar were exceptional swordsman, he never got very good.

When he was twenty-seven, the caravan came across an odd sight. In the middle of the path was a lone woman, her body entirely clad in black, save her face. She was as beautiful a human as had ever been seen, at first glance. Upon approaching, she immediately changed into a horrific vampiress. Before anyone could react, she had begun weaving a powerful illusion, the likes of which legends are written. When she finished casting, everyone believed themselves to be fine, as the vampiress was suddenly gone. They prayed to Aten for guidance and continued on their way.

During the next few nights, some of the men started to feel odd. They thought perhaps a disease had been picked up, but no symptoms appeared other than being ill at ease. One man, Carthiel, suggested a prayer to banish the impurity. They all gathered around in a circle and bowed together in a group ritual of healing. At the half way point, one of them goes silent. Carthiel looks up to see who stopped the incantation and was shocked to see that Iaoth had slit the throat of one of their three elders. His eyes were glazed over, a wild look in his eyes.
"Aten will purify you all!" Iaoth roars, as the other fifteen caravan members turn in shock at the gruesome sight.

The next night, Iaoth, still in his illusion, walked back to his camp. He looks at all the bodies with disgust, seeing only dead Sharites. He takes a seat by the fire, pondering how he got there in the midst of Shar's followers. He looks back and sees not the illusion, but all his dead companions and family. Before he can fall to his knees, the vampiress appears.
"You did well for Shar. She was happy to see this particular group dead. Now I will end you."
As the vampiress approaches, a ring of fire appears at her feet, consuming her in a flash of Aten's fury. Iaoth collapses in a heap, the flames spreading around his body.

On his journey for atonement, Iaoth headed down to a town he was told when he woke up. He didn't know how or why, but he knew Aten and Tyr wanted him in Surna. So he headed off after burying his entire caravan and torching the carts.

• Hand-and-a-half Swords - Raised as a caravan guard and loyal follower to Aten and Tyr, Iaoth was trained to handle a weapon well enough to protect his kin. He is not the best with technique, but he is strong enough to kill a man in one swing provided the man is caught off guard.
  
• Heavy Armors - While working as a guard for the caravan, Iaoth wore heavy armor often. He is used to the lack of flexibility and weight, making up for it with strength. It does not bother him during combat, but he typically tries not to wear it outside the battlefield or when off duty.
  
• Flames of Aten - Blessed by Aten for his purity of heart and devout worship, Iaoth has become quite capable of wielding the Pure One's holy flames. They are potent against the impure of heart and creatures of the shadow. He will lose this ability if tainted or cursed.
  
• Holy Light - This is Tyr's blessing on Iaoth for his unquestionable pursuit for justice. It is potent against the shadows and creatures that dwell within it. He will lose this ability if he commits an unjust act.
