| Our story starts a few years back, in a small Inferian mining town. After several weeks of childbearing, a woman give birth to a young girl. But this girl is strange, born with a small nub of a tail and small nubs where her horns would grow in, they know their child is in danger. Inferia is being purged of demonic influences by the Parietis. Revolted by the idea of their child being slain in the name of Inferian law, the couple decide to do the one thing they could think of, send their child far away from Inferia, and the Parietis. Sneaking into thes night, the woman sneaks towardthe docks, and using her life's savings, she bribes a dockworker to stow the sleeping child away in a crate of brass ingots bound for Sanctimonia.
Come morning, the child has awoken to strange surroundings; and as such begins to wail. The child's piercing screams call out to a deckhand who is taking his break in the storeroom. Hearing the child's plight he searches, and searches through the assorted wares of the storeroom. Finally he finds a crate where thecries are the most intense. Prying open the crate with his knife, he finds our small child, and with her a sealed letter. With haste he brings the child to the captain who is surprised to see that his ship has been harboring fugitives, however he decides against his better judgement he keeps the child alive long enough to reach Sanctimonia.
Upon arrival in the port-city of Practialius the captain made a special visit to the Sanctimonian Home for Children and dropped the baby girl off on the doorstep with the sealed letter. Life in the orphanage was rough, some children aren't as open as others, and she was constantly the target of the resident bully, Laurence. She befriended a dark-elf by the name of Melinda, she turned out to be quite the brawler. Teaching Lai'ara what she knows, eventually they stood up to Laurence, bloodied his nose. broke a few ribs, and left him out on the street for the rats. She spent several days after that incident boarded up in her room as a punishment. To pass the time she read and taught herself several things, about the creatures of the world, faraway lands, and tales of epic heroes. When she was released from her imprisonment in her room she was greeted with cheers and thanks for ridding the orphanage of the plague of bullying that was Laurence, the children learned a very important lesson of diversity that day.
Several years passed and Lai'ara took on the role of leading the orphans. Teaching them what she learned from her books and making the new arrivals feel welcome. Upon the eve of her eighteenth birthday she was present a collaborative gift from the orphans, a book filled with the knowledge from all the books in the orphanage written by Melinda herself. Several blank pages are left in the back for when Lai'ara sees exciting new things in the world outside the orphanage, and with tears in her eyes and embraces given to each child of the orphanage she opened her letter. - Quote :
- Lai'ara, by now you've learned to read, and as such I want you to know something. You are the pride of of both your father and I, but we must send you away. Things for people like you, tieflings. Aren't going well here in Inferia. We love you, and as soon as we can raise the money we will come for you. We want you to go to the trade city of Surna, you have a relative there, Morigen Esmer . Make a name for yourself so we can find you easily. We'll see you soon. Love, Mama and Father.
And with deep emotions stirring about within her she left her entire world behind for a new city. Surna. Two fields each of twenty-five square acres. Where grapes grow with Indigo plants beneath them. Towards the centre of each field are honeybee colonies which are responsible for pollinating the grape vines allowing their blossoms to bear fruits. When the harvest comes, the grapes are sent to the winery where they are processed and stored to be aged, presently some are sold as grape-juice to allow profit before the wine is aged. From the bees, honey and beeswax are collected and sold in the marketplace of Surna. Indigo dye fetches a fair price among caravaneers who take it to Pycheko, Occitan, and Sida. Atop a hill, overlooking the fields, is Lai'ara's country house, a two story home of brick, it is U-shaped and centered around a small fountain, a flower garden accompanies the back of the manor. The perimeter of the house is guarded by a five-foot wrought iron fence atop a foot of marble. Going inside the main enterance, one would find themselves in the parlour, a flame crackles in the fireplace with several sitting chairs surrounding it. Leaving to the left takes one to the house library and to the right, the dining room, beyond which is the kitchen. From the parlour, up the grand spiral staircase, one finds themselves facing a hallway leading to two guest rooms, and turning about, one sees the master bedroom.

| That's really young for a tiefling. More of a passive character I'm imagining. Sure. | |

| I like the character. She doesn't seem to possess any unfair advantages.
I also like that you took a step away from the normal biography style.
My accept. | |

| So long as she doesn't start throwing around fireballs, or start pwning the entire tavern in a barfight simultaneously, I can accept this. = P
Naw, I just tease, I have every confidence you can use this steady passive character to good use whenever action might pick up involving her. As well, as is usual, you created a well done biography format, and made it pleasant to read in both size and depth.
A good character design, I say. | |
