Attributes
Physical Strength & Toughness Ganelon possesses a respectable amount of strength. While not a brute among brutes, there aren't many who would win against him in an arm wrestling match. Recent events, as well as his earlier training, have only served to strengthen him further. In a battle of pure physical power, even hardened warriors might find themselves pressed facing Ganelon.
Dexterity & Agility When not wearing his armor, Ganelon can be quite quick. He has good reaction speed, and can maneuver himself with some level of skill. While swifter than your untrained citizen, he falls into the average when it comes to fighting-men. As one would expect, wearing a suit of full-plate tends to slow one's movements. He is able to do short motions quickly in full armor, such as swing his sword and block with his shield. However chasing someone down, trying to climb is made extremely difficult in full gear.
Charisma & Presence Ganelon was raised by merchants, and one doesn't get far as a merchant by being rude or foul mouthed. He was always a black sheep in that aspect however, and possesses roughly the same charismatic talent of the average citizen. He is able to be polite when he wants to, but more typically he just speaks his mind on matters.
Will Power & Spirit There are limits to what Ganelon will, and will not do. He couldn't tell you what they were when asked, but for him there are several personal rules he keeps to himself, that he refuses to break. He's not particularly strong spirited on most matters, but neither is he weak willed. He has a respectable mental resilience, though it's not something he's trained or worked towards.
Skills
General Combat Prowess Ganelon fights his best in his armor, with sword and shield in hand. He can prove more than a match for most unarmored opponents, and in certain circumstances can defend himself from multiple attackers with only some difficulty.
Unarmed Ganelon uses his strength to his advantage when fighting with bare hands. He may have no technique to speak of, but he's been in more than one fist fight. He can hold his own in a tavern brawl, but against someone who has special training in unarmed fighting, he doesn't have much of a chance.
Swordsmanship While Ganelon is able to defend himself while just using a sword, he'd much rather have a shield in his other hand. He able to parry to an extent, but his sword fighting lacks true finesse. An experienced sword duelist would be just beyond Ganelon's own ability.
Sword & Shield Combat Ganelon likes to be able to stick something substantial between himself and a foe's attack. Deflecting strikes, and counter striking appropriately comes more easily when he has a shield in his off-hand. The power of his shield bash is significant with his full strength behind it. He can give most experienced melee warriors a run for their money when he has both a sword and shield.
Firearms While he knows how to load and fire matchlock weapons, Ganelon has little training with them, and even less experience. Any shot he fires is liable to miss if not fired at something relatively close, and reloading a weapon would take him considerable time.
Riding Ganelon is able to ride horseback well enough, having some experience with it. It was never something he really enjoyed, and he never picked up a real knack for it.
Mounted Combat Fighting from horseback is not something Ganelon has ever tried, nor has he ever desired to. He prefers to fight with both feet on the ground, and leave the horseback fighting to the knights.
Magic Use As of yet, Ganelon has yet to learn any spells. For now he is simply memorizing sigillum from a small book given to him by Alec.
Biography wrote:
Ganelon was born into a family of merchants. His mother and father along with their friends and business partners traveled across Aeria, selling goods between countries. Travel between nations was dangerous, and hired guards were a necessity for anyone carrying valuables. It was these guards, protecting his family and friends that he came to idolize.
Ganelon was the middle child of five, and the least promising merchant of his brothers and sisters. Instead of learning about the values of goods and how to win over customers, he spent his time dreaming of fighting villans. He mostly helped by loading and unloading goods when required. As he grew he wondered if this would be his lot in life.
Some of the payed guards would come and go, but many were glad of the steady income in a normally unpredictable trade. It was one of these "long timers" that Ganelon befriended at the age of twelve.
Jerdai was a mercenary who had been with the merchants for many years. He had used his skills with the sword to disarm or kill many bandits, managing to remain unscathed. He was one of Ganelon's heroes, and as time went on he answered more and more of Ganelon's questions about his life as a mercenary. Finally after some persuasion (and a few mugs of ale), he swore to teach his young friend what he knew of the fighting arts.
At the age of sixteen Ganelon began training under Jedai. His parents had noted the relationship between the old mercenary and their son, but did not try to stop Ganelon's education. They considered it good he found something he was talented at. Not to mention they had four other children more interested in the family business.
Ganelon did indeed have talent, he was also strong from carrying heavy containers for years. However training with the sword was not as easy as he imagined. He at first struggled to learn how to control his strikes, and gathered many bruises from his mentor's swift counter attacks.
Several years passed, and Ganelon became proficient with the broadsword. Some of the other guards assisted in his training, and he learned how to load and fire a caliver, and wear half-armor comfortably.
Jedai died from natural causes when Ganelon was twenty-two. Ganelon's eldest sister had left the caravan to start her own trading company, and his eldest brother had taken over the family business from their retired parents. He felt it was his time to lead his own life.
One month later the caravan arrived in Surna, a town it had passed through several times before. Ganelon had decided this would be his stop the month prior, and explained his intentions to his family. His younger sisters were upset at his leaving, but he and his brother were never very close and shared few words of parting. He said his goodbyes to his family and friends, then waved them off as they faded into the distance.
He turns back on his home for twenty-two years now gone, to look at the city before him. Feeling partly the anxious and mostly excited, he walks back inside the gates nodding at the guards on station. Here he will find his place in the world.

Weaponry:
Enchanted Steel Broadsword The steel broadsword is obviously of excellent craft, and its hilt has a gold inlay with a corudondium gem embedded in the pommel. The sword is able to do one of two things; either it can provide a mild magical shield to deflect attacks (does not work against firearms), or it can be given a honed magical edge. Both the effects are temporary, and the sword needs time to recharge after use. It was purchased from Alderath Kagron (played by Pat), a merchant Ganelon came across in Surna.
Silver Dagger At first glance it appears to be an ordinary steel dagger. When viewed up close, it can be seen that the edges of the dagger are coated with silver. The small blade has not special properties, besides those inherent to 'silver' weapons. Ganelon purchased this dagger, after crossing paths with a lycanthrope for the fourth time in broad daylight.
Apparel:
Weave; Full-plate Armor This full set of plate armor (including a helmet with full head coverage) has a gold inlay on the chest and thigh peices, as does the helmet. For a considerable sum, Ganelon took Alec Smith up on his offer to enchant his armor. The end result was a rather resilient enchantment, giving the armor increased defense against firearms, as well as making it more likely to deflect weapon blows. Other than increased defense, it has no other special properties. The armor is quite heavy, and Ganelon seldom wears it when not planning to encounter something really nasty.
Steel Shield A round, solid steel shield. It's surface is unadorned, save for a few blemishes from previous use. Plain as it is, it provides good defense against most weapons, including firearms being shot from some distance. Due to its weight, Ganelon rarely carries it with him, unless planning on there being some sort of trouble.

Right, sort of re-did Ganelon's page.
I changed the layout, splicing it together from the stolen layout styles of several others (shamelessly, of course). On top of updating his equipment and objectives, I changed his character picture to something I think better suits him, and added more description to his appearance. I also went about listing and describing his skills and attributes in more detail. I did this mostly for myself, but figured I'd let everyone know of the update to his page, just for the hell of it.
