Mack and Zaku

In light of their recent attitude and behavior culminating in their responses in Markka's "Power Curve" thread, I have decided, with the support of the administration team, to permanently ban Mack and Zaku.

The reasons should be fairly simple to understand. Under no circumstances should a simple discussion lead to such immature and insulting behavior.

This is the most disturbing event in what seems to be a growing trend to simply insult and intimidate anyone whom you disagree with. I want everyone to understand this is -unacceptable-.

I also want everyone to understand that, regardless of your position, your contributions to the community, or your "rightness" in an argument, no one, under any circumstances, has the right to act in such a manner. Such elitism and blatant hostility will end, now.

The decision has already been made. It is final. It was my choice alone as an Administrator, unwilling to let this continue. It was my choice, and it has been supported by the rest of the Administration.

I anticipate much better from the rest of you.

A counterargument was offered to Markka's complaint but was ignored. The pseudo-elitism is a response to how using logic is clearly a lost cause. No matter what, Markka would never have been satisfied because his problem was a fallacy and unable to solve.

Oh, who am I kidding, I'm going to get more arguments to this and drama anyways. My only regret is that I woke up late that day and was too slow to post in the thread when it was still funny.

Today I learned that if you can't address the players who make drama, you can sure ban those who mock it.

Permabans were too much. This is ridiculous for what a drama-filled load of shit the original post was.

No good will come out of this. This is just riding a wave of needless shit problems when there weren't any to begin with. Call Zaku and Mack trolls? The real troll is the arsehole that put a little hole in the bottom of our ship and watched the water rush in.

And you know it's bad when your name can be put on Sauron and it fits perfectly.

You forfeit your argument, on grounds of you don't know what you're talking about. Don't say what Zaku's done on server when you haven't been on in absolute time.

There were solutions presented, and serious questions as to the usefulness of the thread. Then when it was all ignored and the bullshit drama started, the only thing to do was just be completely unserious before people started replying with retarded paragraphed opinions.

And now look where we are.

I have no idea what that thread was even about because the last thing I would want to do is argue with the immaculately inactive and useless former admin Markka, but I don't really think a perma is a great response. Mack and Zaku have been part of the community for a while and have contributed to much, sure they got trolly and shit in the thread but it was because they felt that Markka wasn't really acknowledging their arguments.

A perma is just really, really too harsh, considering the things that we let people get away with.

I agree, I wasn't there for the conversation in the thread but it just seems to harsh to let this go by. If it is as bad as the admin team says, then mark them down for a few days at most. As Blitz said, this community is not a really ban happy community, and as far as I know only a few people have been banned since I have joined a few months back, and even then none were permabans.

This is not the first time Zaku and Mack have caused trouble. Say what you will about Markka's thread, at least Markka was capable of calmly and maturely explaining his points. Zaku and Mack, on the other hand, turned the thread into a joke. Those two (and a couple others) make a habit of antagonizing fellow members, flaming and trolling them until they get fed up and leave. Which is what happened as a result of that thread.

They're not heroes, they're bullies who think they own the community and can get away with breaking whatever rules they want because they RP well. The permanent ban is not just because of this offense, it's because of every one prior. Any ban less than permanent would just be laughed off and the process would begin again.

The counterargument was ignored thanks to Mack and Zaku's rampant posting. The thread was buried in their image macros and penis text. I also don't know what you mean by "scapegoat". Who's a scapegoat?

I've said this before in DERP and I'll say this again: There's a large difference between giving an intelligent opinion in and non-insulting way and acting like a condescending douche. Can you guess who have been acting like douchebag assholes? (Well it's more Horizon then Zaku, I don't really know the latter that well). In the end, I'd rather be in a mediocre community filled with nice folks then in a high-strung community where logic comes before emotion.
