Subject: The Sultanate of Zaa'nabar. Mon May 28, 2012 7:29 am
"Shake yourself from slumber, we have risen again, and we have declared war. We are aware as individuals. We are powerful again. We will strike without mercy at the invaders."
Quote :
The Aranek of Zaa'nabar are a proud, honorable race rooted in their tradition. They live in a tech level 0 planet dominated by desert, a large ocean, mountain ranges and plains. Their technological advancements would be equal to that of Earth in the 1960s. In the north, the great mountains hold small villages, cities with walls from the times of the great wars of earlier times. In the plains, herds of elephant sized mammals graze while they are watched over by their shepherds. In the deserts the great expanse of cities lie, on the surface there seems to be little. But under the hot sand thrives the true cities, where millions live. Zaa'nabar is located in Sector 25.
The Aranek are a rather militant society, yes, but they follow a holy code for warriors. The code dictates that war is to be avoided at all times, that the innocent are to be protected and never targeted, and the warrior is to always remain honorable. Such a code that so many of it's warriors follow would mean that the Aranek are not so violent. They abandoned war largely after a dark time in their past. But it seems dark times have fallen upon them again. The Aranek are under siege by a much more technologically advanced private military corporation, Sector 7.
Sector 7 seeks to take a great holy relic from the Aranek, and no amount of diplomatic negotiation could do that. Sector 7 invaded Zaa'nabar and gained a foothold, decimating the Sultanates' forces and decapitating their governments. That is when the unified Sultanate of Zaa'nabar was established, one partisan force fighting the whole of the S-7 forces and their armies. They still hold most of their cities and continue to wage an endless war on the technologically advanced humans.
Khe'lik Akhan, Warlord of the unified Zaa'nabar Sultanate. Khe'lik Akhan is the de facto leader of most of the guerilla forces of Zaa'nabar. He speaks for the Sultan, as he is in hiding due to Sector-7's previous annihilation of all government figures. Khe'lik is an aged general of a former Sultanate that owned most of the deserts, and he is very good at what he does. His strongest weapon is the hate he breeds in his soldiers and his people of this militant force.

War with Sector-7.
Spoiler:
The Holy Relic that the Aranek protect.
The Zaa'nabar first encountered Sector-7 when strange meteors fell from the sky. There were reports that floating objects of mechanical design arose from these meteors and flew off into the distance. This was largely waved off as rumor, and the governments said it was meteor shower. But then, a month later, they came. One of their large transport ships landed outside of a city near the relic, and a diplomatic envoy with many soldiers followed them. They spoke through a mechanical device and it was translated with slight grammar mistakes into their own language. The Sultan spoke to this man, and he offered trade for the relic, saying it was a technology beyond their understanding. The Sultan respectfully declined and said it was not his to own. The diplomat then demanded it, and the Sultan remained stalwart. The diplomat left with the words,"You have brought a dark age upon your people, that 'relic' will be ours."
The Sultan prepared his military forces and locked the relic and his cities down. But it didn't matter. Sector-7 landed their troops and a great battle was had with the two armies. Ultimately it came down to technological advancements, where S-7 won. But they did not get the relic. A heavy anti-aircraft presence and a bulk of Aranek soldiers kept the stragglers from the battle away from the relic. They turned and attempted to occupy the city but the people outright went and attacked them. They pulled back again, and thought long and hard about what they would do.
So they decided to attack the whole race. Small hamlets and villages were targeted, Aranek were outright killed or taken away, never to be seen again. They worked their ways to the cities and gained air superiority, toppling small governments and putting in puppet states. The Aranek were losing and fast. Until Khe'lik Ahksan and his forces united the remaining nations to fight the invaders. They kept Sector-7 out of their cities and established a frontline, granted it shifted greatly because of the guerilla tactics of both armies.
The Aranek captured their tech and their vehicles from wrecks, and with their high adaptability, they learned to fly their vehicles. Within 3 months they were using their own vehicles, converted to take Aranek fuel and ammo. Aranek soldiers took the weapons off of dead S-7 soldiers, and also used those against them.
Despite their ingenuity, the Aranek fight a losing war, with little hope of pushing S-7 out.
The Army of Zaa'nabar.
Spoiler:
The army of Zaa'nabar is purely based off of guerilla tactics, using tunnels and raiding patrols and FOBs, etc. The Aranek love to get up close and personal. They are vicious in combat, and are known to toss their weapons aside when close enough and tear apart invaders with their talons.
The army incorporates their own technology as well as the human's. They use their guns and their vehicles often, as they are superior to their own.
Weapons of the Army of Zaa'nabar include large, slug throwing guns, high powered anti-tank rifles that are wielded like bolt action rifles, and high calibre heavy machine guns. But they will often toss these aside for human weaponry.
The Aranek have yet to create any vehicles that match Sector-7, but use many small VTOL craft of their own creation and of their enemy's.
